The Sunnyside Up Cafe and Farm Shop champions local, organic and fair-trade food produce as well as serving homemade cakes. The cafe has a relaxing atmosphere and is situated in a sunny spot making the seating area in the garden a popular destination for passers-by along the canal. Young families often meet there to play outside with the mud kitchen or inside with the train set and books, which are available for the little ones.
Sunnyside also produces its own range from their three sites around Dacorum, which includes apple juice from their orchards, honey from their bee hives, happy eggs from the rescued hens, jams & chutneys from their allotments as well as seasonal vegetables and herbs, bedding and perennial plants. These are sold along with a range of sustainable, zero waste and plastic free products.
The shop and cafe are managed by the Sunnyside Rural Trust which works in Hertfordshire with adults with learning disabilities through horticultural and practical activities. They are open Monday to Saturday 10 until 3pm.
