Autumn is the season of change, where leaves transform into magnificent colours and landscapes are alive with wildlife preparing for the colder months. What better way to experience the wonders of autumn than to explore our beautiful parks, countryside and woods. Where the Wild Things Are
Whether you are an avid bird watcher or keen fisher, the Tring Reservoirs offer something for all nature lovers and have built up a reputation of becoming the best birdwatching spot in the whole of Southern England. Tring Reservoirs are made up of four reservoirs that are located close together offering stunning views that are sure to make anyone’s Instagram account a thing to behold.
Lace up your walking boots and explore one of the Woodland Trust’s most diverse sites, Tring Park, with open parkland, mixed woodland and rare chalk grassland across an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Follow the waymarked walks to guide you through the park, take a stroll along the 30-minute parkland walk or venture out further along the woodland path. Make sure to look out for autumn gentians in the grasslands on Oddy Hill that are ripe with blackberries during September and early October.
Wise & Ancient Woodland Walks
The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural beauty contains many ancient woodlands. Walk among these cathedrals of the natural world and gain a real sense of history. Walks With Cosy Cafes
After a long walk through the crunchy leaves at Wendover Woods warm up over a hot chocolate and homemade soup at the Café in the Woods and listen to the chime of birds in the trees. The café is open all year round, serving scrummy hot meals, drinks and snacks all freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients. Colourful Autumn Walks

Woodlands across Ashridge Estate are exploding with warm autumnal colours of reds, ambers and golds. Every corner you turn on the Ashridge Autumn Colour Trail will provide you with breath-taking views of parkland and you may even see a few fallow deer.
