Old Town Market

A display of various greeting cards featuring vibrant watercolor illustrations of birds and flowers, arranged neatly in rows. A collection of wooden kitchenware and decorative items is displayed on a red tablecloth, featuring engraved cutting boards, small colorful egg decorations, and price tags, set up at an outdoor market. A display of assorted fudge varieties at a market stall, featuring packaging labeled with names like "Maple & Walnut" and "Peanut Brittle." Small tasting cups are arranged on the table, and a sign highlights the vendor, "The Grumpy Fudger."

Held on the first Sunday of each month (except January, February, March), the Old Town market features locally produced baked goods, hot food, craft items, preserves, artisan gifts, cards, paintings, jewellery, and much more.

Run as a not-for-profit enterprise by a team of local business owners, the purpose of the market is to provide a place for local producers to showcase their products and give customers the opportunity to shop locally in our historic Old Town High Street.

The market is located in St Mary’s Square, under the arches at the Old Town Hall and in the grounds of St Mary’s Church.

There’s disabled access and toilet facilities available. Many of the small businesses in the High Street are also open on market day, including local pubs and coffee shops, giving a huge choice of goods for sale and places to eat and drink.
