The Rectory Lane Cemetery is a beautiful green haven just off the high street in Berkhamsted, open all day, every day.
This once forgotten Victorian cemetery was transformed by a huge volunteer-led restoration project, funded by the National Lottery. It is now full of accessible scenic path-ways and sculpted seats, including a Read in Peace seat, perfect for getting lost in a book; a Garden of Remembrance with a Celebration of Life Wall and War Memorial; and a zone dedicated to wildlife study and habitat with stunning views across the town.
